KC Royals: Five Keys To Winning Game 3 In Toronto

1) Don’t get ahead of yourselves
The Kansas City Royals might be up two games to none over Toronto, but this is only Game 3. It takes four games to advance to the World Series, and there are still many games left in this intense series.
The Royals can’t go into this game thinking, “We can afford to lose one” (not that they would think that) because that’s exactly the type of thing that could give Toronto momentum. If Toronto squeaks this game out, they will have their mojo back AND two more games at home to build that mojo.
Don’t give Toronto any momentum. They have big hitters and they’re going to be pumped in front of their home crowd, but DON’T LET THEM BACK IN THIS SERIES.
This is exactly what happened to the Houston Astros this time last week. The Astros were up two games to one over Kansas City, and after taking a 6-2 lead, started thinking the game was in the bag.
The Royals weren’t about that action boss and ended up winning the game, tying the series, forcing a Game 5, and eventually advancing to to their second straight ALCS.
Toronto also experienced this earlier too against the Texas Rangers. Texas took a 2-0 series lead on the Jays, but Toronto went on to win three straight games to avoid elimination and advance to the ALCS for the first time since 1993.
Don’t give Toronto any momentum. They have big hitters and they’re going to be pumped in front of their home crowd, but DON’T LET THEM BACK IN THIS SERIES. Play hard through nine (or more if necessary) innings and give it your all.
Momentum is everything in baseball. Don’t let Toronto get any.
