3) Stick to Royals baseball

In some of the more recent games, it’s obvious that some of the Royals are swinging for the fences and trying way too hard to hit a home run. While that’s fine if the Royals end up hitting one, they’re not typically that type of ball club. That’s Toronto’s game, not Kansas City’s.

Don’t swing for the fences, stick to Royals baseball.

The KC Royals need to stick with the criteria that got them to the World Series last year, which is get on base and steal, steal, steal.

We haven’t seen a ton of stealing this go around, but the Royals have certainly used their “keep the line moving” strategy and won games because of it.

Game 4 of the ALDS and Game 2 of the ALCS proved this. In Game 4, the Royals rallied down four to eventually win the game by three runs. In Game 2, the Royals were down by three and rallied to win 6-3.

It’s this type of strategy that works for the Royals, and they need to stick with it. Don’t swing for the fences, stick to Royals baseball.

If there is a Kansas City home run or two, however, I will not complain. Just don’t rely on it like the Blue Jays do.
