The first non F of the report card goes to the Kansas State coaching staff. While it sure looked like the Wildcats were completely out coached in every aspect of this game, I’m going to give Bill Snyder and company the benefit of the doubt.
Things won’t get any easier for Kansas State, but Bill Snyder means everything to this program.
Obviously it’s tough to give the coaching staff anything higher than a D- since their team just lost 55-0 and were embarrassingly shut out at home. Snyder is one of the best coaches in all of college football though. Yes, this was a major hiccup for the Kansas State Wildcats, but Snyder is the guy I’d want to get my team back on track.
Things weren’t off to a great start for the Cats when starting quarterback Jesse Ertz was injured after only two plays in the season opener. From then on, it was Joe Hubener’s job to take. Snyder has done what he can with Hubener, but yikes… Saturday’s game was not pretty.
Things won’t get any easier for Kansas State, but Bill Snyder means everything to this program. What it came down to was that no one executed in this game.
"“I think all of us are embarrassed,” Kansas State coach Bill Snyder said. “I can’t remember being involved in a game like this since 1989, the first year we were here, and I don’t even know if we had one that bad in that first go-around.” – Courtesy of ESPN"
