Kansas Jayhawks All-Time Rushing Yards Leaders Number Ten: Jon Cornish
Jon Cornish was barely involved in the offense in his first three seasons on campus. After redshirting as a freshman, he just three touches for 8 yards as a freshman and sophomore.
Then – BOOM!
He broke out as a junior, then produced a massive senior campaign that rocketed him into number ten on this list.

As a senior, he galloped for 1,457 yards on 250 carries, scoring eight touchdowns. For his college career, he sported a sparkling 5.8 yards per carry average.
His fine senior season turned into an even better pro career. He returned to his native Canada and became a Canadian Football League superstar.
In his first three seasons as a pro, he earned just 52 carries for 389 yards, mirroring his early days as a Kansas Jayhawk. He improved in his fourth and fifth seasons, upping his production to 1,481 rushing yards on 204 carries, 7.3 yards per carry.
Then – BOOM!
Over the next three seasons, Cornish amassed 4,352 yards on 655 attempts.
Cornish has won the CFL’s Most Outstanding Player once, and Most Outstanding Canadian thrice, according to the Calgary Sun.
For his is CFL career, Cornish has 6,547 rushing yards, 43 rushing yards, 1,576 receiving yards, nine touchdowns through the air, and for good measure, another 542 yards in kick and punt returns.
