Kansas Jayhawks All-Time Rushing Yards Leaders Number 11: Jake Sharp

One of only two players on this list from this century, Jake Sharp had the good fortune to be a key player on the best Kansas Jayhawks football team ever. He was a sophomore during that magical 2007 season that culminated in an OrangeBowl win, and a 12-1 record.

  • Rushing Yards – 2,239
  • Carries – 456
  • Rushing Touchdowns – 23
  • Yards per Cary – 4.9
  • Total Yards from Scrimmage – 3,024
  • Total Touchdowns – 29

His best two seasons were his sophomore and junior years when he surpassed the 800-yard mark. He also scored 19 rushing touchdowns in those seasons.

Sharp wasn’t a one-trick pony, however. He also caught 86 passes for 785 yards and six touchdowns, pushing over 3,000 yards from scrimmage over his career.

He missed three games due to a leg injury during his senior campaign, or these numbers most certainly would have been higher.
