Pierre Thomas also has worked out for Kansas City in the past week, but as of now, nothing further has happened between the two sides.

The best part about Thomas is that he can make a difference in the passing game as well as the rushing game.

Thomas had an admirable eight-year career with the New Orleans Saints, and I’m honestly surprised he’s still a free agent. Throughout his eight years in the Big Easy, Thomas compiled 3,745 rushing yards and 40 total touchdowns. He shared the backfield the last few years with guys like Mark Ingram, Chris Ivory, and Khiry Robinson, but Thomas still made a statement for the Saints.

The best part about Thomas is that he can make a difference in the passing game as well as the rushing game. Thomas had over 2,600 receiving yards while with the Saints, and we all know how much Alex Smith likes just to dump the football off and let the running back take it from there. Thomas would be perfect for this type of scenario.

The main downside with Thomas is his age. He’s 30 years old, and running backs deteriorate at a much quicker rate than most other positions in the NFL.

Still, though. Pierre Thomas is a talented running back, who could potentially give Kansas City’s offense a much needed spark.
