The KC Chiefs have already been linked with working out Ben Tate, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. Tate, the former second-round pick by the Houston Texans in 2010, has bounced around the league. Last year alone saw him spending time with three different teams.

Tate has 14 rushing touchdowns in his career and nearly 2,400 rushing yards. He’s not the answer for the future at running back, but he could be a decent fill in while Charles is out.

Tate’s best season came during his (technical) rookie year, where he rushed for 942 yards with four touchdowns. He never ended up matching that success in Houston, and moved on to Cleveland in 2014. He also spent time with Minnesota and Pittsburgh last season as well.

Again, Tate isn’t the running back of the Kansas City Chiefs’ future, but he might be just what this team is looking for the time being.
