The KC Chiefs are in deep trouble now that running back Jamaal Charles is out for the year. Who could the sign Chiefs to potentially replace the Pro Bowl running back?

The Chiefs are in desperate need of a replacement for Jamaal Charles, but the options are scarce. As of now, it appears the Chiefs are going to roll with backups Knile Davis and Charcandrick West in their backfield, and they also promoted Spencer Ware to the active roster.

Davis has stepped up in the past and shown he has what it takes, but it was only two games. He filled in nicely for Charles when he went down in the playoffs two seasons ago, and also stepped up when Charles was ruled out against the Dolphins last season.

West is a bit of an unknown at this moment, but it appeared that he was promoted above Davis on the depth chart even before Charles went down last weekend.

So, who are some potential free agents the Chiefs could bring in to help out the offense?

Isaiah Pead might be considered a bust, as he was a second round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. Pead never amounted to much in St. Louis, never even recording a single touchdown. He tore his ACL in 2013 and didn’t do anything else after that with the Rams.

Pead would likely be a cheap option for the Chiefs to pick up, and who knows? Pead could be a simple case of just needing a change of scenery in the NFL. Maybe the other side of the state will do that for him.
