Week 5 of the 2015 NFL season is here, and that means it is time to take a look at those fantasy football lineups. This is my Start ‘Em/Sit ‘Em article where I try to help you make some tough lineup decisions, whether that means starting a players that normally doesn’t start for your team, or benching a player that is normally in your starting lineup.

Here are my Start ‘Em/Sit ‘Em picks from last week. To get to Week 7’s start/sit picks just go to the next slide of this article.

Last Week’s Start ‘Em

player. 28. . QB. Oakland Raiders. Derek Carr. 5

Derek Carr and the Oakland Raiders matched up with the Chicago Bears in Week 4, posing a potential pretty good matchup for the young, second-year quarterback who has already had a good start to his season.

He didn’t take advantage of the good matchup as well as I thought he would, and was held to under 200 yards passing.

The matchup was right, and the production in previous weeks suggested that he was going to have a pretty great outing this week, but pretty much fell flat.

Carr is slowly getting better and before long I think he will be a viable starting-caliber fantasy quarterback in this league.

RB. Indianapolis Colts. Frank Gore. 4. player. 46.

Frank Gore had a pretty terrible fantasy game against the notoriously poor Jacksonville Jaguars defense.

Gore had 22 total touches in Week 4, but only managed to gain just over 80 total yards and also fumbled, bringing his fantasy score down further.

I didn’t see this coming, especially in a game where the Colts had to play without the injured Andrew Luck, and had to rely pretty heavily on the aging running back.

Gore is pretty much universally recognized as a starter in most fantasy leagues, so if you played him, you got pretty unlucky in my opinion for Week 4.

James Jones. 3. player. 49. . WR. Green Bay Packers

James Jones had a pretty good week in Week 4 against the spiraling San Francisco 49ers. He had over 90 yards receiving, with 5 catches, but unfortunately didn’t score a touchdown for the first time this season.

Not getting into the endzone made this his worst outing of the season, but he still had some pretty good numbers.

I think James Jones is back to the top of fantasy receivers as he was just a few years ago in his first stint with the Packers as Aaron Rodgers’ #1 option.

If you started him last week, you were probably expecting more, but he still had a solid game in Week 4.

Last Week’s Sit ‘Em

Doug Martin. 2. player. 48. . RB. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Doug Martin had one of the best games in the last two seasons in Week 4 against a normally stingy Carolina Panthers defense. I had no idea that Martin would finally get out of his very long slump with such a tough matchup.

He ended with over 100 rushing yards and a touchdown, on his way to 19 fantasy points in standard leagues.

There isn’t much to say here other than I just didn’t see this one coming and I don’t think many others did either.

31. . QB. New York Giants. Eli Manning. 1. player

Eli also had a pretty tough matchup in Week 4, matching up with the Buffalo Bills for the first time in 4 years. The Bills are now coached by one of the best defensive minds in the game in Rex Ryan, and most believed that his defense would out-play the Giants and get the win.

This wasn’t the case.

Eli had a great game, throwing for multiple touchdowns and ultimately getting the win.

If you started Manning, you got lucky in my opinion and wouldn’t expect it to happen again if the two teams had to play again.
