First Base, Eric Hosmer

Although Eric Hosmer continues to scoop, rake, and dive over at first base, this might be an off year as far as the Gold Glove goes. He barely cracks the top 10 in DRS and UZR, and somehow his DEF (Defensive Runs Above Average) is second to last in the American League.

It would take an army of managerial votes to overcome those stats.

Although his leg fracture has ended his season early, Mark Teixeria might be in line to win his sixth Gold Glove, in true comeback fashion.

His chief competition will likely be the Rangers’ Mitch Moreland, who has the stats, but possibly not the same notoriety as Tex to get the votes.

Hos has plenty of good years to come, and while it’s likely he’ll add a third glove to his mantle soon enough, it probably won’t be in 2015.

Chance of Winning: 15%
