I won’t go into how the secondary played as whole Monday night. Through three games, only three teams have allowed more points than the Kansas City Chiefs with 89 points (Jaguars, 49ers, Bears). Still, the Chiefs are allowing under 100 yards rushing per-game (94.0) and are tied for fifth in the NFL with nine total sacks.

There were few bright spots defensively outside of Houston on Monday.

Through his first three NFL games, Peters has 13 total tackles, two interceptions, seven passes defensed and one touchdown.

Defensive tackle Jaye Howard posted five tackles and three assists. He played on 57% of defensive snaps and stopped three Green Bay running plays for losses. Then he added two penalties for 12-men on the field. While Howard played well in the trenches, the coaches and coordinators (and Howard) can’t let that happen.

Rookie cornberback Marcus Peters continues to impress as well. He played on 100 percent of defensive snaps and allowed few catches to Green Bay receivers.

Rodgers had no reason to challenge Peters, as he repeatedly picked on safety Tyvon Branch, who was forced to cover receiver Randall Cobb. But Peters was the only player in the secondary who truly held his own last night.

Through his first three NFL games, Peters has 13 total tackles, two interceptions, seven passes defensed and one touchdown. He’ll draw another good set of receivers next week against the Bengals.
