October 14th, 1973 at Milwaukee County Stadium (Game ended in a tie)
This game between the Chiefs and the Packers from 1973 makes the list, simply because it ended in a tie, something that is almost unheard of in the NFL now. Yes, last year there was a tie between the Bengals and the Panthers, but it’s usually a rare thing.
The game started off with a Chiefs lead, as Len Dawson hit Morris Stroud with an eight yard pass. The Packers later tied it up, and took the lead shortly after to go up 10-7.
Fortunately, the Chiefs had Hall of Fame kicker Jan Stenerud to notch things up with a field goal in the fourth quarter.
I can’t really say a ton on this game since this was way before my time, but I thought it was cool that A) it ended in a tie and B) This game was played at Milwaukee County Stadium. The Green Bay Packers played a few games a year at Milwaukee County Stadium through the 50s and into the early 90s. It was demolished in the early 2000s.
The 1973 season saw the Chiefs go 7-5-2 and miss the playoffs. The Packers went 5-7-2 and also missed the playoffs.
