November 8th, 1993 at Arrowhead Stadium (Chiefs won 23-16)

Now we’re getting into games that I don’t remember, as this one took place when I was two (almost three) years old. I doubt I was super into football then.

The year was 1993. Marty Schottenheimer was the coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, and the team was rolling under Coach Shottenheimer. The Chiefs were 5-2 when they welcomed the Packers to Arrowhead Stadium for a friendly non-conference game.

The game didn’t see an offensive touchdown until the fourth quarter (there was a 16 yard fumble return courtesy of Dan Saleaumua) that put the Chiefs up 10-9 in the third quarter.

Marcus Allen later scored the first offensive touchdown of the game to give the Chiefs a 20-9 lead. The Packers weren’t done though, as Brett Favre threw a 35 yard strike to Jackie Harris.

The Chiefs, however, capitalized on a Nick Lowery field goal (his third of the day) and went on to win 23-16.

This season saw Kansas City go 11-5, win the AFC West, and losing in the AFC Championship to the Buffalo Bills.

The Packers went 9-7 and lost in the NFC Divisional round against the Dallas Cowboys.
