Sit Em #2
Raiders rookie Amari Cooper has been very good in his first year in the NFL, coming out of Alabama as Oakland’s first round pick.
He has been paired with one-time first-round wide receiver Michael Crabtree via free agency and it has helped to keep some of the attention off of Cooper from a defense’s perspective.
Cooper has already been targeted 20 times through 2 games with Derek Carr as his quarterback and seems to have the promise of a starting fantasy wide-out as soon as this season.
The only problem is his matchup this week with the Cleveland Browns. The Browns #1 cornerback Joe Haden will likely take on the responsibility of covering Cooper, which should cause his targets to fall tremendously from Weeks 1 and 2.
Haden is one of the NFL’s best cornerbacks and usually covers the oppositions number one wide-out for each game in an attempt to completely take a player out of the game for the offense.
This is what Cooper will likely be facing in Week 3.
I would avoid him if you can, but I would still consider him a pretty solid flex start for Week 3.
