5. Find Out About Denver’s Rookie Offensive Linemen
The Broncos will likely start rookie center Matt Paradis and rookie left tackle Ty Sambrailo along its offensive line.
Those two will have their hands full with Chiefs nose tackle Dontari Poe and outside linebacker Tamba Hali. Not to mention the nine guys behind them.
…It’s on the entire Chiefs defense to exploit the fact that Denver lost its best offensive lineman Ryan Clady to injury this offseason.
There’s no doubt the Chiefs will attack the left side of the Broncos’ front, and there’s no doubt the Broncos will do everything they can to protect its young left tackle.
Quick passes, running backs in pass protection, mobilize a tight end.
Either way, the Chiefs need to find out about Denver’s two rookie linemen.
Work on them early and often. Blitzes, stunts, power move, spin move. See if these rookies can play – and play under the lights.
I’m sure defensive end Mike DeVito will verbally remind them they’re rookies, but it’s on the entire Chiefs defense to exploit the fact that Denver lost its best offensive lineman Ryan Clady to injury this offseason.
Nothing against Paradis and Sambrailo, it’s just a part of the game.
If you have a perceived weakness, it’s going to be targeted. If you’re a rookie, expect to be challenged.
The Chiefs have a nice match-up with Hali on the right side. It could be a key to a Chiefs’ victory tonight.
