2) Alex Smith will have the best season of his career
Those of you who read my Chiefs content frequently know that I’m pretty high on Alex Smith. I think the guy is a good quarterback who does a great job at protecting the ball and making smart decisions on the field. Sure, he’s not a threat to throw the ball deep, but it’s hard to do so when you don’t have an offensive line up front.
Smith has plenty of weapons to utilize, and for that reason alone, I think we’ll see Alex Smith in the best season of his career.
Smith’s first year in Kansas City was his best season yet and I expect us to see similar numbers to that 2013 season. Smith is entering his third year under Andy Reid and company, and he’s gotten a feel for how Reid runs things and knows what to expect.
Smith will have the best weapons he’s had during his tenure in Kansas City as well. Jeremy Maclin is a Chief now, and Jamaal Charles and Travis Kelce are both on board this season too. Smith has plenty of weapons to utilize, and for that reason alone, I think we’ll see Alex Smith in the best season of his career.
All of this goes without saying that I think Smith will make the Pro Bowl… as if anyone even cares about that still.
