3) Chase Daniel will be traded

This is unpopular of me to say, but I do believe Chase Daniel will not be with the Chiefs come season’s end. He’s shown that he can handle himself in a starting role (even if it has been just two starts) and there are plenty of teams who will more than jump at the chance to pick up a guy who shows confidence in that role.

  • I think Chase will remain with the team for maybe half of the season, but once the Redskins realize Kirk Cousins sucks or the Jets don’t want Ryan Fitzpatrick as their starter, Kansas City will be getting some calls about their current backup quarterback.

It’s not like it’d be a bad decision for the KC Chiefs either. Daniel is in the last year of his (expensive) contract with Kansas City, and Aaron Murray will likely be propelled into the backup role next year regardless. Why not bump him into it now?

The Chiefs also signed Tyler Bray to a two-year extension, which shows that Daniel is not in their future plans.

If a team comes calling about Chase Daniel, it’s likely that his time with the Kansas City Chiefs will be over.
