Cheslor Cuthbert spent some time with the Royals this season, but hasn’t played a major league game in nearly a month. He wasn’t awful at the plate during his short stint with Kansas City, recording four RBI, a double, a triple, and six hits total in 26 plate appearances.

The fact that Cuthbert saw some time as a starter during his time in the majors is almost a guaranteed ticket for him to make it to Kansas City in September. He only has a .240 batting average, but he had some decent knocks in big moments, and is easily a better option than Dusty Coleman.

Cuthbert was sent back to Omaha in August once Moose returned to the team, but his call up is almost a sure thing. Personally, there are much worse options than Cuthbert, and he has shown he can hang with the guys in the pros.

Expect Cuthbert to rejoin the Royals in September for sure.
