At this point, we’re getting to the guys who more than likely will be rejoining the Royals in September due to their past big league experience.

Pino’s odds of getting called up are strong simply because he has spent time in the Royals’ bullpen this season and the Royals know he could contribute to the team’s success.

Yohan Pino is a huge possibility to be called up in September because he’s spent time with the Kansas City Royals this season and even started a game back in June for them. The first few months of the season saw the Royals’ starting rotation struggling to stay healthy.

At one point, Danny Duffy, Jason Vargas, and Yordano Ventura were all battling injuries, which left the Royals to turn to one of their minor league pitchers to start against the Red Sox. Pino didn’t look too good in that start at the K. He went 5.1 innings while allowing 11 hits and six runs in a 3-7 loss.

Pino had seen some good outings out of the bullpen though this season, which is where his role would be come September. An impressive outing Pino had was early on in the season when Ventura struggled against the Athletics and was ejected in the fifth inning. Pino came in and pitched 4.2 innings without allowing a run and striking out three.

Pino’s odds of getting called up are strong simply because he has spent time in the Royals’ bullpen this season and the Royals know he could contribute to the team’s success.
