Michael Mariot has seen time in the majors for the Kansas City Royals, and that’s why his chances of being added to the big leagues come next month are quite good.

Mariot appeared in 17 games in 2014, posting a 6.48 ERA in 25 innings pitched. Mariot was typically used in blowout games, but he never looked great on the mound for the Royals. Anytime he’d trot out to the mound, it was never a reassuring feeling.

This season, he’s spent most of his time in the minors and currently has a 4-1 record with a 2.25 ERA in 39 games for the Omaha Stormchasers. His command has looked much better out of Omaha’s bullpen and if he can keep that form, he could be a useful arm out of the Royals’ bullpen during their end of the season run.
