KC Royals: Ten Players Who Could Be Called Up in September

If nothing else, Christian Colon will always be remembered in Kansas City for having the winning run in the Wildcard game last September. Colon has been a little bit of a disappointment this season and has spent the last two months in Omaha with the Stormchasers.
Colon was sent down to the minors because he was almost being wasted in Kansas City. He never started games despite Omar Infante’s struggles, and was mainly utilized when Escobar went down for a few games in April.
Christian Colon is almost a sure thing to be called up. He is a former first round pick who has seen the most time in the majors out of anyone in the minor league system.
Colon’s demotion was to get him more at bats in preparation for the late season games. He was only batting .244 in 78 at bats and appeared in only 29 games.
With Ben Zobrist likely taking over at second base during the postseason (assuming everything is fine with Gordon in left field), Colon would likely only be used as a pinch runner or if an injury occurs to Escobar.
Colon has had success with stealing bags during his time in the majors. He went two for two in the regular season last year, and also had another two this season. He was caught stealing once in 2015.
