Casual fans of the KC Royals might have been upset when Terrance Gore was sent to the minors to start the year off, but it was the right move. Gore is not a threat at the plate at all, posting a whopping .000 average last season.
Gore will return to Kansas City for year two of the “That’s what speed do” campaign.
That’s not what Gore’s strength is though. He’s used as a pinch runner for the Royals and went five for five while stealing bases in the 2014 regular season. He’s a huge asset when it comes to the Royals being behind and needing runs, and he and Jarrod Dyson led the charge with the “That’s what speed do” campaign in 2014.
Originally I wasn’t sure if the Royals would utilize Gore as much this season since Dyson is still around, and Paulo Orlando has shown great speed in Kansas City.
Still though, Gore is unbelievably fast, and the Royals were the team they were last season because of his speed.
