Blake Bortles‘ numbers may have been lower than Carr’s last season, but Bortles started three less games than Carr. Despite starting three less games, the former Central Florida quarterback threw for 2,908 yards and 11 touchdowns. He did throw 17 interceptions, but year two should be a better one for Bortles.

  • First, look at the weapons Bortles will have in Jacksonville this season. The Jaguars signed tight end Julius Thomas during the off season, which should help Bortles out a lot. Thomas is a big physical tight end and I imagine Bortles will find him in the end zone quite a bit this season.

The Jaguars also have promising receivers like Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson to help out their second-year quarterback.

Bortles is entering his second year in the NFL and will likely show improvement in Jacksonville. He has new weapons and now has NFL experience and knows what to expect on the field.

Bortles shouldn’t be a starter in your league (especially for one starting quarterback leagues), but he’s a decent injury replacement or bye week guy for sure. He might surprise you with what he provides your fantasy team with.
