FANTASY FOOTBALL ROOKIES FOR 2015: NUMBER THREE – MELVIN GORDON

Melvin Gordon was an absolute stud at the University of Wisconsin and even held the FBS single-game rushing yardage record with 408 yards. He fell just 41 yards shy Barry Sanders’ single-season rushing yardage record, finishing 2015 with 2,587 yards.

Gordon was drafted 15th overall by the San Diego Chargers, who traded up to get him. It looks like Gordon’s doing pretty well after the first few weeks of training camp, as he finished with six carries and 11 against the Cardinals on Saturday, and will begin the season as the Chargers starting running back.

As long as the Chargers offensive line can hold up this year, Gordon should have a big season. There aren’t many big playmaking running backs to go around in the NFL, but Gordon is one of them.

Gordon is most certainly a fantasy starter, and should be drafted within the first three rounds.
