FANTASY FOOTBALL ROOKIES FOR 2015: NUMBER TEN – TODD GURLEY
The St. Louis Rams were desperate for a running back, and they went out and got one in the draft. Unfortunately, Todd Gurley is still recovering from a torn ACL, and according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com, is likely to miss the first couple games of the season, which is why I have him ranked at #10.
If Gurley does return within the first few weeks, he is expected to become the starting running back for the Rams, which would bode well for fantasy owners. Gurley, who played at Georgia, has drawn comparisons to Adrian Peterson, and was one of the most-hyped players in the draft.
The Rams are optimistic about Gurley and his return and hope to see him on the field early this season. Gurley, in an interview with SiriusXM NFL Radio, said he is taking it easy for now with his recovery.
"“Right now, we’re not pushing anything,” Gurley said. “It’s kind of taking it day-by-day and week-by-week. Whether it’s Week 5 or Week 1, ten years from now nobody is going to remember what you did the first five games. You’ve just got to take it easy.”"
All in all, Gurley would make for a nice late-round backup pick if he is still available.
