4. Thomas Robinson
Coming out of Washington D.C., Thomas Robinson was one of the highest ranked recruits in the 2009 class. He played in only three seasons at KU before leaving for the NBA Draft in 2012, which honestly… Seems to be a lot more than college basketball fans are use to seeing out of their players.
Robinson was picked up by the Sacramento Kings with the fifth pick in that year’s NBA Draft, but played one full year there before getting traded to Houston.
He then spent two seasons with the Portland Trailblazers before being traded to the 76ers in 2015. He recently signed a two year contract with the Nets, according to Alec Nathan of Bleacher Report.
Robinson started seeing significant playing time for the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team his sophomore season, where he came off the bench. He only averaged seven points a game that season. Once his junior year came, Robinson was the starting power forward. Starting all 39 of their games.
Coach Bill Self has always been known for his ability to produce big men into the NBA and Thomas Robinson kept the streak going. He will go down as one of the best in Kansas history.
