8. Markieff Morris
Markieff Morris was always slightly better than his twin brother Marcus, but both had great three years at Kansas. Markieff was ranked 91st overall in the 247sports top 100 but showed he was worth more once his time came at KU.
He was drafted 13th overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2011 NBA Draft. The 6’10 center from Philadelphia began his stardom last year as he put up 13.8 points and 6.0 rebounds with the Suns. Just before this past season he signed a four-year $32 million deal to stay in Phoenix.
He answered back scoring 15.3 points a game and 6.2 rebounds. He just started to learn his role with the Suns and will only get better and better.
At Kansas, Morris was given the starting role in his junior season. He and his brother played the 4 and five positions putting up great numbers that were enough to give him a top 20 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft.
- 13.6 points
- 8.3 rebounds
- 1.1 blocks
In his three years at Allen Fieldhouse, he was awarded a second team all Big 12 honors being his only accolades. He has had some troubles recently in a Phoenix assault, and he and his brother could face jail time.
He should go down as another great big man from coach Bill Self.
