2. Ben McLemore

When you think of Ben McLemore, you think of athleticism. McLemore played one season at Kansas before being taken 7th overall by the Sacramento Kings in 2013 draft. He is from nearby Saint Louis, Missouri but played his high school ball at well known Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. He played three seasons at his high school in Saint Louis but was shut down. According to ESPN he was the 49th ranked recruit just putting himself in the top fifty.

McLemore played in all 82 of Sacramento’s games and started in 55 of them his rookie season. He averaged 9 points a game as well as 3 rebounds but had trouble shooting the ball at 37%. He played a lot better his second season shooting 43% averaging 12 points a game and 3 rebounds. The 6’5 shooting guard is ready for his third NBA season with the Kings.

McLemore was a star on campus at Kansas. He had trouble gaining eligibility his freshman season due to high school transcript issues but started all of the Jayhawks 37 games.

He was by far one of the most entertaining players to watch in college basketball that season with his crazy dunks and long range shots. His play gave him a finalist mention for the John R. Wooden award and was a consensus second-team All-American as well as a first team Big 12 honoree.
