FANTASY FOOTBALL SLEEPERS IN 2015 NUMBER 9: TEDDY BRIDGEWATER
Teddy Bridgewater is a young quarterback who definitely wasn’t ready to start last year, coming straight out of Louisville and was expected to start by most heading into last season.
He struggled at first, but he eventually overtook Matt Cassel as the Vikings starting quarterback and did pretty well for a rookie for the most part.
Bridgewater has some speed, but he is also a good pocket passer most of the time and has some serious upside and potential for the coming seasons. The problem in Minnesota last year was that he didn’t really have anyone to throw to, as Adrian Peterson was suspended and his other options weren’t exactly the best.
Now, the Vikings acquired Mike Wallace from Miami to go alongside Cordarrelle Patterson at the wide receiver position and Peterson is back from his suspension and I think this is the year we see Bridgewater start to shine.
I wouldn’t consider him a starting fantasy quarterback, but I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to draft him as my backup in all leagues and he should be treated as such.
Don’t be afraid of taking a chance on him in the later rounds of your draft.
