FANTASY FOOTBALL SLEEPERS IN 2015 NUMBER 14: DARREN McFADDEN
Darren McFadden has finally been let go by his old team, the Oakland Raiders, after years of being injury-plagued and having year after year of disappointments.
The Dallas Cowboys then signed the once highly regarded McFadden to help and try and replace last year’s leading rusher DeMarco Murray, who left Dallas to sign with the division rival Philadelphia Eagles.
McFadden really doesn’t have much competition, as the Cowboys didn’t sign any other backs or draft one, so they are left with McFadden and Murray’s backups from last season: Joseph Randle and Lance Dunbar.
I can see Joseph Randle getting some significant carries and should definitely be drafted along with McFadden until we find out what the split will be once the season starts.
McFadden is obviously a prime candidate to be a steal/bust, but I think being in a new system with the best offensive line in the NFL in front of him should keep him healthy. If this happens, and he can get over 1,000 yards, he could be a steal.
Don’t reach for him, but if you need a running back in the middle rounds, don’t be afraid to take him because of his past in Oakland.
