FANTASY FOOTBALL SLEEPERS IN 2015 NUMBER 15: DEVONTA FREEMAN
Devonta Freeman was a stud coming out of college but didn’t really get the touches that he deserved last year. He had to battle with Steven Jackson and Jacquizz Rodgers for touches, keeping his fantasy value very low.
Now, this year, Jackson and Rodgers have both been let go, and it’s Freeman’s time to make a name for himself. The starting running back job in Atlanta is his to lose, and I don’t see him coughing up this opportunity.
The Falcons like to throw more than they run recently, but I think with a new and young running back being the primary ball-carrier will change things this year.
Freeman is an all-around back who can challenge any defense, and I believe he will evolve into a good NFL running back in the next few years.
Heading into this year’s drafts, I would consider him a #2 RB with a lot of upside but also some downside as well.
With the running back position being so thin this year, don’t hesitate to reach a little for Freeman if you have to and have the need at running back.
