FANTASY FOOTBALL SLEEPERS IN 2015 NUMBER 6: C.J. SPILLER

C.J. Spiller has always been a pretty injury-prone back, and has kept up his reputation as he got injured it seems days after signing with the Saints. But the good new is that it sounds like he is going to be okay to go Week 1.

The Saints are only Spiller’s second NFL team so far in his career, and I think that the change of scenery could be just what he needed to get passed the last couple of disappointing seasons.

Mark Ingram is Spiller’s competition in New Orleans and will likely get more carries, but head coach and play caller Sean Payton is notorious for using multiple running backs in his offense and will likely use Spiller similar to the way he did Darren Sproles a few years back.

Spiller is a lot like a bigger Sproles in regards to their running/playing styles and I see C.J. being very productive and less likely to get injured because he won’t be asked to shoulder the load as much as he was back in Buffalo.

Consider him a solid flex option heading into the season with the upside to turn into a #2 fantasy running back if he can stay healthy.
