Okay so the drive to Houston, Texas isn’t necessarily a short one, clocking in somewhere over the 11 hour mark, but that’s what they invented planes for. You’re looking at maybe a one hour flight. Have fun.

Anyway, this makes the list due to the fact that the Chiefs and Texans are very similar teams. They both have incredible defenses, good running games, and quarterbacks who don’t merit a ton of respect from their fan bases.

  • Both of these teams went 9-7 last year and barely missed out on the playoffs. They both also have “that guy” in the division. You know, the one who’s favorited to win it all each season (in their case, it’s the Indianapolis Colts).

Needless to say this will be a hard fought battle in the first game of the season. If this were a home game for the Chiefs, it’d be closer to the top for me, but since it’s on the road and not as easy to attend, we’ll leave it right here at number five. At least it’s an indoor stadium, so it won’t be too hot outside should you decide to make the trek to Houston.

Those who do decide to travel to Houston for this game are in luck. The Royals don’t play until that night and will be broadcast on ESPN. Everybody wins!

For what it’s worth, I think the Chiefs will win this one. Alex Smith will throw multiple touchdown passes and may even throw one to a wide receiver. It’s going to be a wild day down in Texas.
