Matt Stafford has one of the best arms in the league. He can get the ball wherever he wants is to be, and is a part of the reason for the success of arguably the best wide out in the NFL, Calvin Johnson.

The Lions added Golden Tate last offseason via free agency as well, which makes for a solid receiving corp when paired with Johnson and up-and-coming second year tight end Eric Ebron.

  • Stafford has, for the most part, always been a starting caliber fantasy option in 12-team or bigger leagues. He always puts up a lot of yards because of his love for throwing the deep ball, but sometimes he tries a bit too hard to get the ball to Calvin, which can get him in trouble.

Last season, he threw 14 interceptions, which wasn’t awful, but many of them could have been avoided.

Johnson’s health was also an issue for Stafford last season. “Megatron” as everyone calls him, ended up missing quite a few games and it definitely altered the way Stafford and co. ran the offense.

If Megatron is healthy all season, I can see Stafford and him both having great seasons.

Consider him a good starting option in most bigger leagues (larger than 8-team leagues). He has the potential to be a top-5 QB; he just has to put all of the pieces together.
