Arian Foster has been an elite running back in the NFL for years. He may be the best back in the league when it comes to in between the tackles running and getting into the end zone.
So why is he number eight you ask?
For one reason and one reason only: Injuries.
Foster had groin surgery recently, but could return earlier than expected, according to ESPN.
Foster has become known over the last three years or so for being very injury prone and has missed a lot of games because of his injuries that ranged from hamstring to foot injuries.
He has had his troubles staying on the field, but when he is on the field, he makes things happen and has a nose for the end zone like none other that I’ve seen since Priest Holmes in his prime.

Taking Foster in the late first round to second round range is risky, but if you can handcuff whoever the Texans choose as their prime backup for Foster, taking him early might be worth it. If Foster does come back mid season and you have both him and the Texans backup on your team, you might be poised for a good season.
Consider Foster a low-end number one running back with the potential to be what he has been in past seasons which could mean his value goes through the roof.
Proceed with caution knowing he is a strong hit or miss guy coming into this season.
