Fantasy Football Running Backs: Top 15 To Target In 2015

DeMarco Murray made the inter-division change, signing with the Philadelphia Eagles in the offseason via free agency. This comes just one year after Murray led the league in carries and yards for the Dallas Cowboys and basically carried them to the playoffs.
Murray’s success with the Cowboys last year was due in major part to the offensive line that the Cowboys have that is considered to be one of, if not the best in the entire league. When Murray wasn’t in the game for whatever reason, his replacements ran just as well for the most part when called upon.
Buyers beware with Murray, but also remember that he will likely get around 55-65% of the Eagles carries, and should be a decent second running back for 2015.
He got a whopping 393 carries, which is the most since 2006 when running back Larry Johnson was with the Chiefs. And that doesn’t even include his receptions.
The amount of touches that he got last season should be a concern for fantasy owners because of Murray’s injury history. Last year was the first full NFL season that he was able to get through without missing any games due to injury.
Another reason to have some concern about drafting Murray is his new team, the Eagles. Chip Kelly and company not only added Murray this offseason after losing LeSean McCoy in a trade, but also added ex-Charger Ryan Matthews and still have speedster Darren Sproles on the depth chart as well.
With all of these factors in mind, Murray’s touches/carries could and probably should be cut down a lot, and his fantasy value and production could suffer as a result.
