FANTASY FOOTBALL WIDE RECEIVERS NUMBER 9: ODELL BECKHAM JR.

Most fantasy cheat sheets have Mr. Odell Beckham Jr. a lot higher than the ninth spot. In fact, I’ve seen him be placed in the top three of the majority of wide receiver cheat sheets that I have seen so far heading into this fantasy season.

The reasons I have him so far down at number nine seem simple to me:

Beckham is a great receiver and should be seen as a low-end number one receiver heading into 2015 and should be drafted somewhere in rounds three through five.

First off, most of his success was after Victor Cruz suffered his season-ending knee injury.

Secondly, he started last season with an injury and has yet to prove that he can be effective for a full NFL season yet.

Finally, I honestly believe this season’s fantasy receiver class is very top-heavy, and I think that OBJ still has some work to do before he belongs in the same sentence with Antonio Brown and Calvin Johnson.

Beckham is a very talented receiver and has a ceiling as high as any young wide out in the NFL today, but I just can’t justify drafting him in the first couple rounds knowing there are still questions as to how much he will be used with Cruz back, along with the other issues I mentioned above.

Beckham is a great receiver and should be seen as a low-end number one receiver heading into 2015 and should be drafted somewhere in rounds three through five.
