FANTASY FOOTBALL WIDE RECEIVERS NUMBER 10: RANDALL COBB

Randall Cobb exploded onto the scene in a big way last year tallying 91 receptions and 1,287 receiving yards. This is mostly due to the fact that he plays with the best quarterback in the NFL (in my opinion) in Aaron Rodgers, but that doesn’t take anything away from Cobb and his fantasy value.

  • Cobb is a very explosive receiver that can be placed all over the field from the slot to the backfield. He is very fast and can make a big play out of nothing, which is why he is such a big part of the offense.

For the most part, Jordy Nelson is the Packers’ deep threat, but Cobb’s explosiveness gives him the ability to put up outstanding numbers even if he isn’t catching the ball 20+ yards down the field.

As a Cobb owner from last year, trust me when I say that if he has another year like he did last year, owners are going to be happy with his production when compared with his pre-draft value.

Consider him a high-end number two fantasy receiver with the potential to be a number one guy in bigger leagues.

He should be off the board by the beginning of the fourth round in most leagues.
