Ron Jaworski: Full NFL Quarterback Rankings

Good thing Colin Kaepernick is considered an above average quarterback because the 49ers are going to be terrible in 2015.
At last we get to the Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback, Alex Smith.
Smith has been with the Chiefs for two seasons and has gone 19-11 during that span. Not all Chiefs fans are happy with Smith’s play, especially since he’s not one to throw the ball downfield (his longest pass last season was 47 yards), but Smith doesn’t cost the team games. Since this is a KC blog site, here is part of what Ron Jaworski had to say about Smith,
"Smith is not aggressive throwing the ball down the field, but he does not turn it over. It’s a fine line. Smith had the fewest attempts of any NFL quarterback on throws 20 or more yards from the line of scrimmage. But he was very efficient in the red zone. Thirteen touchdowns, no picks. I want to get back to Smith’s 24 attempts all season beyond 20 yards. He only completed eight. It’s where his arm strength limitations do show up. And that’s not going to change at this point in his career."
With Jeremy Maclin now in a Chiefs uniform and an improved (well somewhat) offensive line, Alex Smith should be able to execute better in 2015 and lead the Chiefs to the postseason.
Next: Good, but not good enough
