Ahhh, the first actual quarterback controversy taking place in 2015. Will it be Ryan Mallett or recently acquired Brian Hoyer under center for the Houston Texans? Jaws thinks Mallett is the more talented of the two, but the third worst starting quarterback headed into the season.

Mallett started two games last season and looked all right. He eventually was placed on injured reserve, cutting his season short. He threw two touchdowns and two interceptions in the three games he appeared in for Houston.

Remember when the Chiefs were thinking about taking Geno Smith with the first overall pick back in 2013? I think we can all agree that that not happening was a good thing.

53. . Quarterback. Cleveland Browns. Josh McCown. 28. player

Here is another quarterback controversy situation taking place. Ron Jaworski seems to think that long time NFL veteran Josh McCown has the edge over Johnny Manziel for the starting job in Cleveland. I personally am not so sure.

The Browns took a chance on Manziel in the first round in 2014, and it seems too soon to give up on the kid already. He had two interceptions and no passing touchdowns during his rookie season. Manziel did, however, rush for one touchdown in his five total appearances.

As for McCown, he’s nothing more than a career backup in my eyes. His success with the Bears a few seasons back has propelled him back into people thinking he’s capable of being a reliable starter.
