FANTASY FOOTBALL TIGHT ENDS NUMBER 1: ROB GRONKOWSKI
The only tight end who should be taken off the board in the first two rounds is Rob Gronkowski. Even with Jimmy Garoppolo poised to start the first four games of the year at quarterback for the Patriots, Gronk is still in a tier of his own.
Gronk should be the first tight end taken off the board, and you will not regret drafting him as early as the second round.
After missing 14 games between 2012 and 2013, he led all tight ends in yardage last year and tied for first in touchdowns, and that’s with sitting out Week 17. He’s healthy after this offseason and is set for another big year. He’s as close to a sure thing there is with tight ends, as long as he’s on the field.
You know the talent and the numbers already – if you really value tight ends and want to pay up for the best, he’s still your guy.
Gronk should be the first tight end taken off the board, and you will not regret drafting him as early as the second round. He’ll get you consistent points each week and unless he has injuries, should be a reliable guy on your lineup.
