KC Royals Most Disliked Rival Player of 2015 Number Two: Jeff Samardzija
Jeff Samardzija needs no introduction to Kansas City Royals fans. His hatred with the fans here started on the very first game of the season when he beaned Lorenzo Cain with a pitch after Mike Moustakas homered to make it a 4-0 game in favor of the Royals. Somehow, someway, fans didn’t think that was the end of the Cain/Shark drama, and they were right.
STROLL DOWN MEMORY LANE: RECENT NOTABLE FIRST ROUND PICKS
A few weeks later, the Royals traveled to Chicago to play a series against the White Sox on their home turf. In a game where Samardzija wasn’t even starting, he continued attempting to get under the Royals players’ skin by chirping from the dugout during their at bats.

Later on was when things got crazy, as Yordano Ventura recorded an out against Adam Eaton. Those two started getting into it and all of a sudden madness ensued as both benches cleared and it became evident pretty quickly that the fight was centering around Cain and Samardzija.
The Royals went on to win that game, just like they did in the Wildcard game against Samardzija (who again, wasn’t starting) when he was with the Athletics. Perhaps that began his annoyance with the Royals, as he’s seemed to have it out for them from the very first day, but the Royals have continued to prove time and time again that they’re better than Jeff Samardzija.
Hell, fans dislike this guy so much that they didn’t even want to consider acquiring him during trade talks. Now those are true fans.
For what it’s worth, Samardzija is set to pitch against the KC Royals this weekend on Saturday. Don’t expect the fans to forgive Shark for his actions this season. It could be an ugly game.
