Fantasy Football Defenses Number 2: Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills established themselves as fantasy mainstays last season. With a league-leading 52 sacks and just 289 points allowed, this has the makings of a dominant defense going into the 2015 season.
We all know Rex Ryan and, as much as it pains us to admit it, his mind for defense. He’s usually a blitz-heavy guy who will rely a lot on man-coverage, and this Bills defense could suit him perfectly.
Defensive end Mario Williams, defensive tackles Marcell Dareus and Kyle Williams, and defensive end/outside linebacker Jerry Hughes form quite the punch on the defensive line. It’s downright nasty.
That’s two First-Team All-Pros (M. Williams, Dareus) and then Pro Bowler Kyle Williams. Then Jerry Hughes, who had ten sacks last season.
We all know Rex Ryan and, as much as it pains us to admit it, his mind for defense. He’s usually a blitz-heavy guy who will rely a lot on man-coverage, and this Bills defense could suit him perfectly.
Williams is a blue-collar guy with one of the great motors in the NFL, and Dareus might be one of the strongest guys in football. It will be tough, again, to run on the Bills, who allowed just 106.6 rushing yards per game last season.
Defensive ends Manny Lawson and Free Agent signing Alex Carrington should provide some big-bodied depth on the defensive front.
Cornerback Leodis McKelvin led the team with four interceptions in only 10 games last saeson, but his health is a concern as he tries to return from the broken ankle that cut his 2014 short. Conerbacks Stephon Gilmore, Corey Graham, Ronald Darby and Nickell Robey will have to pick up the slack.
