Fantasy Football Defenses Number 7: Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos were the second toughest team to run on last season, allowing less than 80 rushing yards per game.

They lost a big part of that rush defense when Terrance Knighton left town, and it took another hit when defensive end Derek Wolfe was suspended for the first four games of the season.

As a result, it could take the Broncos defense a few weeks before it’s helping your fantasy team win matchups.

It’s a new look for the Broncos in 2015, but it’s got the talent to be a Top 10 defense in fantasy football.

Still, the Broncos are loaded behind the line. Across the linebacking corps: outside linebacker Von Miller, inside linebackers Danny Trevathan and Brandon Marshall, outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware.

Don’t forget rookie Shane Ray, either. That’s a tough group with a ton of ability to get to the quarterback.

They also have a top set of cornerbacks. Two former KU Jayhawks Aqib Talib and Chris Harris have teamed up to form one of the better cornerback tandems in the league.

Safety T.J. Ward was a Pro Bowl selection in 2014, but replacing Rahim Moore will not be easy.

The Broncos defense has the benefit of a high-scoring offense. That can force opposing teams to gamble more, which usually means better opportunities for interceptions, sacks, and turnovers. Broncos might not be a shutdown defense, but it can be an opportunistic defense.
