Fantasy football defenses can be key to having a good fantasy team or struggling to win week in and week out.
In projecting fantasy football defenses, the most significant factor in these rankings is the team’s Front-7. If you don’t have a line full of savages and some threat of a pass rush, I’m not betting on your defense to help my fantasy football team.
The Legion Of Boom has been dominant for three years, but it would be average without Brandon Mebane, Michael Bennett, Chris Clemons, Cliff Avril, Bruce Irvin, Bobby Wagner and Malcolm Smith suffocating offenses at the line of scrimmage.

I prefer to wait until late to draft a defense, but to each his own. If you’re sold that Rex Ryan’s Buffalo Bills defense will be the clear-cut Number 1 defense in fantasy football, you should select them.
Reach for them, even. Go with your gut. But just because someone selects the Eagles D/ST in Round 8, doesn’t mean it’s time to take a hit-or-miss defense to keep up. Capitalize on his mistake.
