The San Diego Padres have several pitchers they could unload to another team and Tyson Ross is one of them (the third of this article to be exact). Ross has looked pretty good this season, posting a 3.38 ERA with a 7-8 record in 22 starts.

It is highly unlikely Ross would go unclaimed, but he is an intriguing option.

Ross is 28 years old and is signed through 2018 so he wouldn’t just be helping the Royals out this season, but for a few seasons. With the amount of prospects the KC Royals gave up in their two trades thus far, having a guy like Ross in the rotation could bode well for the boys in blue.

Since Ross wasn’t traded at the deadline and is controllable for several seasons, it is doubtful the Padres would take the chance of losing him via a waiver claim, but if they are looking to trade him, they might try to sneak him through.

The Royals haven’t been linked with Ross much, but that doesn’t mean something still couldn’t happen for the two sides. Out of all of the Padres pitchers, Tyson Ross would be the one I would want to see the Royals go after.
