(2) 1951-52 Kansas Basketball vs. (3) 1977 KC Royals
It’s KU basketball vs. KC Royals Part II.
The ’77 Royals face another tough test against another Jayhawk championship team.
However, these Royals have two advantages over the last KC-KU match-up.
- They won a franchise-record 102 games
- The ’51-’52 KU championship team isn’t as fresh in the minds of as many people as the ’07-’08 team
Those could be enough to propel the three-seed in to the Elite Eight, although that season 63 years ago is still a special one to Jayhawk faithful.
