Kansas City Chiefs: Five Players to Watch In 2015

Marcus Peters was the Chiefs’ first round draft pick in 2015, and should get the chance to show off his skills early in training camp, and the regular season. At 6’0″, 198 lbs., Peters isn’t the biggest cornerback ever, but he’s very quick and knows how to break up passes.
In his college career at Washington, Peters racked up 129 tackles and 11 interceptions. I thought this was an overall well-liked pick in the draft, especially considering it’s a position the Chiefs lacked in last year. While Peters may not earn a starting spot right out of the gate, I think he’ll see plenty of playing time.
With the four game suspension of Sean Smith, the Chiefs will need some help at this position, and Peters could very well be the guy to provide it. He’ll be up against returning starters Husain Abdullah and Ron Parker, and second-year players Phillip Gaines and Daniel Sorenson.
Peters did see some problems during his time with the Washington Huskies, but having Andy Reid as his coach should bode well for the young corner. Expect him to have a big rookie year.
