Sunday, November 1st, 2015 VS Detroit Lions at Wembley Stadium in London (9:30 AM CST) *COUNTS AS A HOME GAME*
Oh boy! Football at 9:30 in the morning!
A lot of people were peeved about the decision for the Chiefs to give up a home game and host one in London. I was definitely one of those people. I just don’t understand why when you have a terrific home field advantage that the KC Chiefs do why on Earth you would give that up.
Oh right. LONDON BABY!
Okay regardless of the situation, the Chiefs have a game to play, and it happens to come against a worthy opponent in the Detroit Lions. The last time these two teams met was not pretty for Kansas City, as the Lions went on to decimate our Chiefs by a score of 48-3 in the second week of the 2011 season. Ouch!
This time around things are different for the Chiefs. They’re a much better team than that 2011 season’s 7-9 squad (what a weird season by the way). Since that game, the Chiefs have added so many more weapons and should be able to put up some points against the Lions’ tough defense.

According to ESPN, the Lions had the second best defense in the league last season (Seahawks had the best). Their offense, on the other hand, ranked 19th in the league. This season their defense might not be quite the same, as they lost two of their best players in Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley to free agency.
Matthew Stafford is a good quarterback, but aside from Calvin Johnson, he doesn’t have a ton of weapons. Joique Bell doesn’t really scare me, but if the Lions can get Ameer Abdullah (go Huskers!) up and running by week eight, he could do some damage.
Despite not being a true home game for the Chiefs, I think Kansas City wins this one overseas and parties hard in London that night.
Prediction: Both defenses will show up, but Kansas City’s will shine a little brighter. Chiefs win 13-7.
Next: Looooong week to prepare
