Sunday, November 29th, 2015 VS Buffalo Bills (12:00 CST)

The Kansas City Chiefs will go over a month without playing a game at Arrowhead Stadium, but will host the Buffalo Bills in week 12.

The Buffalo Bills have become almost like a division opponent to the Chiefs, as this will be the eighth consecutive year that the two have squared off. Buffalo has the advantage with four wins to the Chiefs’ three. I did a really cool piece on these two and their rivalry back when they were set to play each other in 2014.

A lot of my hatred for the Bills comes from this annoying girl I knew in college. She was from New York and her dad was a Bills fan so she’d talk crap even though it was obvious that she knew nothing about football. My junior and senior years of college were rough because that’s when the Bills put the smackdown on the Chiefs and this girl would not drop it.

Needless to say, I haven’t heard from her in the past two years when the Chiefs have defeated Buffalo. Funny how that works, huh?

Anyway, the Bills have a whole new look headed into 2015. Surprisingly, they have a new coach despite having a winning record in 2014. Rex Ryan is now the head coach in Buffalo, and the Bills also have another new face, but one oh so familiar to the Chiefs in Matt Cassel.

The Chiefs’ defense should be fine against Cassel and company, but it’s Buffalo’s defense that worries me.

Yes, the Bills acquired Matt Cassel during the off season and as of now, seems to be the projected starter for Buffalo over former first round pick EJ Manuel. Cassel is considered to be the second worst starting QB headed into the season though (at least according to Matt Warren of Buffalo Rumblings), and Chiefs fans obviously agree that Cassel is not great.

Cassel has been back to Arrowhead since being released after the historically bad 2012 season, but it was for a preseason game when he was a member of the Vikings. This will be his first time back in the regular season and don’t expect the fans to be polite about it. I imagine Cassel will be booed throughout the game.

The Chiefs’ defense should be fine against Cassel and company, but it’s Buffalo’s defense that worries me. I still expect Alex Smith to lead the Chiefs to victory, much like he has against the Bills the past two seasons.

Prediction: We’ll have a defensive showdown in this game, but the Chiefs will win 10-3.
